چکیده
in this study a set of 10 polymorphic microsatellites (maf33, oarcp34, bm8125, maf214, maf70, dyms1, mcm527, oarjmp29, oarjmp58, bm1824) has been used to assess the distribution of genetic variation in six iranian sheep breeds (sanjabi, kabude shiraz, turki ghashghaii, lori, bakhtiyari and arabi). from each breed 45 sheep randomly were selected and their blood samples were collected individually. the dna of samples were extracted by modified salting-out method. the genomic dna amplified through polymerase chain reaction (pcr). all locus per population combinations were at hardy-weinberg equilibrium except maf214 for kabude shiraz and bm1824, maf214 and mcm527 for sanjabi. all loci were found to be polymorphic in the six sheep breeds, and generated a total of 73 loci across the 10 locus from the 270 individuals analyzed. there was substantial genetic variation within sheep breeds, with average heterozygosity range of 0.747 to 0.792 based on expected hetrozygosity. the confidence intervals for the gene diversity at each location indicate that no significant difference between breeds hetrozygosity. the results indicated that genetic differences between the breeds explained 8% of the total genetic variation and the remaining 92% was due to differences among individuals within the breeds.

Genetic Characterization of Albanian Sheep Breeds by Microsatellite Markers
Albania is a Mediterranean country, located in West of Balkan Peninsula. Albanian farmers have a long tradition in sheep breeding. Sheep comprise one of the most important domestic livestock species in Albania and play an important role in the livelihood of local community since they are a good source of meat, milk and coarse wool (Dobi et al., 2006; Porcu and Markovic, 2005). There are three i...

The present study aimed at analyzing the genetic variability of indigenous goat breeds (Capra hircus) using the MHC-associated microsatellite markers BF1, BM1818, BM1258, DYMS1, and SMHCC1. The following breeds were included: Chinese Xuhuai, Indian Changthangi and Pashmina, Kenyan Small East African (SEA) and Galla, and Albanian Vendi. To examine genetic variability, the levels of heterozigosit...

The genetic relationships of five Indian horse breeds, namely Marwari, Spiti, Bhutia, Manipuri and Zanskari were studied using microsatellite markers. The DNA samples of 189 horses of these breeds were amplified by polymerase chain reaction using 25 microsatellite loci. The total number of alleles varied from five to 10 with a mean heterozygosity of 0.58 ± 0.05. Spiti and Zansakari were the mos...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity of Four Cattle Breeds Using Microsatellite Markers
Four cattle breeds (Gyr, Nellore, Guzerat and Holstein) were analyzed by amplification of genomic DNA using microsatellite loci to evaluate the genetic diversity within and among them. DNA samples of 18 animals from each breed were collected to access the genetic content of them. Allele frequencies were calculated and used to generate a Nei’s genetic distance matrix what was used to build a den...
متن کاملGenetic variation of Garra rufa fish in Kermanshah and Bushehr provinces, Iran, using SSR microsatellite markers
Six highly variable microsatellite loci were used to investigate the genetic diversity and population structure of the Garra rufa in Kermanshah and Bushehr provinces, Iran. All of the 6 microsatellite loci screened in this study showed polymorphism. A total of 90 individual fish from 3 populations were genotyped and 60 alleles were observed in all loci. The number of alleles per locus ranged fr...
